i got a twitter message dealie from Kyle the other day.
"should I change my twitter picture? give me your honest opinion."

i have lots of thoughts on this subject------------
read on if you're interested in exploring what your profile photos might be saying to the world.

here's the first question i asked him:
>>> what do you want your photo to show? what do you want people to see?

at first he wasn't sure.
i told him to do a brainstorm session on Who Is Kyle. what says Kyle to you?

then, i had him think about two things:
1. how do you want people to see you?
2. what are you possibly trying to hide behind?

photos can either speak to who you really are, or they can show the world a false you.  are you always putting up silly photos because you're uncomfortable with your serious side? do you want to look excited all the time so that people don't think you're boring? who is the real you? is that what your photo shows?

we figured out that he needed a photo that showed people his caring, pastoral side, not just his fun side.  it got me thinking too...... what am i trying to show you about me? i'm obviously not 100% of the time smiling with my arms out in front of a pretty tile wall with a pretty flowered shirt.

in fact, right now i'm in workout clothes, no makeup, listening to M. Ward, sweaty from doing tae-bo this morning with Billy Blanks, and procrastinating on editing a wedding.

so :)
what is your profile photo saying?
what do you want it to say?
what says You to you?

ps: check out Kyle's twitter. he's rad!

Hey Shannon - I found you on Tara Whitney's blog while I was browsing through one of the comments page (something that I do when I am procrastinating myself). You're so refreshing and upbeat. Love the attitude on your blog. It's funny that you posted this today because I was just talking to my friends about what our profile pics say about us and how most of our friends on facebook need a profile face-lift... because they are just weird and random. Just wanted to say hi :)
