i drew cosmo.
what an experience! especially after photographing him millions of times.
to sit down and look was so good for me.
these pieces will be in an art show at SPACE art gallery---- we were given 6x6" wood blocks and got to do whatever we wanted on them. my first thought was to mount a photograph on there. then i thought...... no. embrace the wood block. i'm really glad i did, because to see the grain, to see the pencil marks, to see the erased parts...... its all so human and real.
they're having a pre-show sale, so if you're interested in buying either of these pieces for only $100, email southpasarts@sbcglobal.net
go here to see the rest of the pieces that will be in the show. amazing stuff!
and you can come see them with your eyes! come to the show! it opens this saturday, november 13th. my polaroids will be taking over the gallery too. so much art.
