usually i just have bills, and what's up with wasting so much paper on ads?? but sometimes i have contracts from clients, which usually have a little hello note along with their wedding details.... but SOMETIMES.... i have fun visual loveliness that just rocks my world. and i love it so much that i have scanned it for you to enjoy too.
the orange envelope at the top is from my friend marisa---- the card simply says: i know how much you love getting mail so i thought i'd send you this lovely card just to say, hi!' who does that? made my month.
newsprint makes my eyes freak out in a good way,

such a great part of life.
bold idea: maybe send a piece of mail instead of twittering today?
I love what she's got going on at her wedding blog: great ideas for brides to create a completely unique wedding that fits who they are.

she did a fun feature on one of my all-time favorite engagement sessions: Peter and Kat.
and guess what?
she posted some never before seen footage:
some photos you've never seen!
>>>>>>> here's the link! you'll love it.
this comes at the perfect time, because I've also been wanting to show you their wedding invitation that just came in the mail. she hand-typed them on a typewriter. absolutely sweet.

it makes the world happy.
like today when i ordered turkey on my veggie burger.
it just makes sense to me, you know?
and so to you.....
you go be you.
Yesssss!! So fun!
Love you because you order turkey on your veggie sandwhich. So perfectly you!
(08.27.09 @ 12:30 PM)Obviously you, SL, must be a newbie veggie. One day (or yr/decade, et al) I'll take you for veggie lessons @ a veg cafe.
(08.27.09 @ 01:14 PM)Congrats! This is a really fun engagement shoot. A lot of really great ideas!
(09.01.09 @ 06:47 PM)
ahhh- i love your polaroid today!
(08.20.09 @ 10:15 PM)Ooh! What a lovely plant. Is it a succulant and do you know what kind? I want one :) I have a few, and I love them.

not helpful for our safety.
rosanna was kind and went to get the new keys made, and came back with this for me:

creepy??
You girls are creeping me out!
Remember: Safety 1st! Have you had your 1st fire drill in your new pad?
I tried to get that key when we moved to our new house but they said it wasn't the right key for our front door! lucky girl!

my green sweater
from nordstrom rack
it has no buttons or zipper in the front,
it just hangs open.
i love the mesh of colors,
& it loves me
i promise.
tell me your favorite item, and why,
and i will send a randomly selected commenter a fun piece of mail.
because getting real mail in the mail is much better than bills.
:)
love to you,
shan
My favorite piece of clothing is an ivory wool coat that I found at Buffalo Exchange in Portland...it is 3/4 sleeve, is pleated from the waist down. My favorite thing about it is the the big ivory buttons going down the front, and the one matching button on the back. Every time I wear it I feel like I'm Madeline walking down the streets of Paris.
(08.11.09 @ 05:15 PM)I love getting real mail! I checked the mail box like 3 times yesterday because I want to see if anyone sent back wedding RSVPs...sadly, there were none.
So, my favorite article of clothing would be a white skirt with a brown embroidery design. I found it at Ross on a shopping spree a few months ago when I was looking for wedding event attire. I wore it for some of the photos for our engagement shoot and plan to wear it at our western-themed co-ed shower next month.
Oh...why I like it. Well, I like the design and it's fun to spin around in!
(08.11.09 @ 05:43 PM)My favorite item(s) of clothing are my stretchy cotton knee-length skirts. I have 16 of them (no joke) and wear them essentially every day with flips and a tee. They look great when I'm at my thinnest and they're perfect for a currently-growing belly. (A most forgiving item, is what I'm getting at...) There you go.
(08.11.09 @ 06:06 PM)Hi!
I love my orange shoes!!!
Look for the meteor shower tonight!!!!!!!!
(08.11.09 @ 06:11 PM)a blue Moulinette Soeurs from anthro -- flowy long sleeves and the perfect length.
(08.11.09 @ 06:53 PM)ooooh my favourite is a black linen-ish a-line wrap skirt i got at club monaco last year. it's PERFECT to dress up or down...and the best part? it has pockets! [and you wouldn't even know it!]...so not like me to say a skirt since i LIVE in jeans but i need new jeans...
i like this post. nice & simple. hope you don't mind if i do this on my blog - with credit to you of course.
(08.11.09 @ 08:43 PM)my favorite piece of clothing changes with the seasons, but right now my fav are my kakhi shorts that hang low and loose and are perfect for the summer. i wear them everyday. (Kakhi goes with everything) They of course were a hand-me-down from a friend cause thats how i get all my cute clothes.
(08.11.09 @ 08:58 PM)Leigh your comment is cracking me up!! I have been trying to think all afternoon what my fav piece would be... and currently it's bathing suits which I wear in my studio while working bc there is no air conditioning... luckily I work alone in here. I do have a favorite "uniform" for when I am in public: tshirt with a pencil shirt and heels.
(08.11.09 @ 10:21 PM)P.S. I realized everyone was so much more specific than me on their outfits so.... My favorite swim suite right now is my blue and white stripped bottom with gold ties (which are actually just strings that hang there, they don't tie anything... pointless! but cute...) and my black top which I used to wear to swim practice in AZ to get my tan on. And I like my "uniform" because it says "I am comfortable with how uncomfortable my feet are."
(08.11.09 @ 10:29 PM)Hmmm...SL must be giving free drinks or something.
Fav clothing?? Let's try a grungy green & black flannel shirt.
Um, you totally already know the answer to this. It's my favy sweater that I have worn the past two times you have seen me, and, incidentally, the past two times I have been on the other side of your camera lens (hints: it's yellow with a design on the back).
Thank you for reminding me to get it washed so that I can wear it every day again this week!
(08.12.09 @ 01:15 AM)Are shoes considered clothing? I LOVE my rainboots! Because they keep out the rain of course! And they have polka dots!
(08.12.09 @ 08:10 AM)Shoes: all leather brown shoes, slim cut, box toe with raw stiching along the flanks and the -- slightly upturned -- toe, thing strap with silver buckle. Wood heal that klicks with just the propper echo. its that great medium brown leather colour that simply cannot be found in American leather products. Found them on accident while looking for black dress shoes in Bicester Village outlets in Oxfordshire, UK. They were 5 quid. they fit like a glove, and can work either formal or casual and be perfect for either.
(08.12.09 @ 09:27 AM)Difficult question! :) I think my favorite is a white dress my Mommy got me. Its a short, soft white, and crocheted... very versatile. I like it because it looks like it's from the 1920's, so pretty! :)
(08.12.09 @ 10:53 AM)No doubt! A Lt. Commander coat with LOTS of hidden pockets I got
at a Laguna thrift store 20 years ago for $25!!! When we went to SF
people asked me if I was a pilot, remember?!?

move me.
enjoy the day, the weekend, all of it!

(09.16.09 @ 03:13 PM)Shannon- since starting school I have been lagging so badly on writing you back! It will be coming soon, i promise!!!!!
(09.16.09 @ 10:21 PM)slcom makes my day every day, usually. Unless there's no post delivery.
(09.17.09 @ 08:08 AM)can your friends be my friends?
