in light of all of this, we decided to do their session at their apartment: the place where they have merged their lives and daily navigate the ins and outs, the ups and downs of relationship. i love that they're so different, SO in love, and have chosen to grow together and learn from each other. they're the best. love you guys :)

i honestly feel very showered upon to get all the clients who enjoy space and dinosaurs
this is ideal.
i-deal.
erin & adam:
they are both into comics.
to see them browsing the store intensely together was the most romantic thing.
the real kind of romance.
the kind where you're just you,
and they're just them,
and you just mesh.
so, we started their engagement photos at a comic book store in burbank: house of secrets.
they had superhero toys hanging from the ceiling which made me think that this place was legit.
which it was.
and geeky-cool things like comics.
this is ideal.

so after the comic store, we drove a few minutes down the road to the griffith observatory. (favorite spot of all time.) it was actually erin's suggestion, not mine. which made me secretly want to be her best friend. this photo below is from my medium format minolta autocord, and this specific frame is the beginning of the roll when i apparently didn't advance the film far enough along. i accept him as legitimate though, and appreciate my photo lab for deciding to scan all of that top part.
erin is the biggest fan of nature.

i need to tell you about this one. they got a map to see where to explore next, i was waiting for them off in the corner, thinking that i didn't like the lighting. then i reminded myself that there could be something here------- took this photograph, and then made them stay here for 5 minutes because i loved it so much. this type of thing always happens. i get stuck in my own comfort zones and then the world tells to break loose and change it up a little. love this image.

photographing kate and tim left me feeling nourished.

romantic and elegant with their picnic of cheese and fruit and pellegrino,
carefree and fun with their skateboards and converse,
self-proclaimed apple geeks with their iphones.
i was able to take lots of deep breaths during their session. i love when they're like that. this was so them.

we went to the Rancho Santa Margarita lake and they had their picnic and then longboarded and skateboarded around the lake while i tried to catch up with them. :) so good! cannot WAIT for the wedding that is coming up!

alicyn is a style genius,
she found me through the grey likes weddings blog,
and told me when we first met that she has dreamed of having her turn for awesome photos!
it was so fun to get to give them to her!!
and lets talk about brian.
makes robots for a living,
loves alicyn like there's no tomorrow,
and is an all around amazing guy.
we went to the la brea tar pits for their engagement session,
which gave us so much to explore and experience.
SO RAD,

where do i start with this one.
i'll start by telling you that something about the breakfast hour just moves me.
also, something about eating a meal together.... it moves me.
its my favorite thing.
my ideal date.
my favorite way to spend time with people.
therefore,
i love that becky and carsten decided to begin their engagement session at the king's road cafe in LA. a breakfast engagement session. so lovely.
